Grenada CITIZENSHIP

In September 2013, the government of Grenada resurrected long-standing law allowing citizenship by investment through two options, authorised real estate acquisition and donation to the government Island Transformation Fund. The new inception of the old law increases the minimum real estate investment to US$250,000 and was conceived for unique global citizens who demand exclusivity and prompt service.

The Mount Cinnamon Resort, the only authorized real estate option in the Grenada program is available by invitation only through a handful of select agents, such as NTL.

With a population of around 110,000 on the island of 344 square kilometres (133 sq mi), the ‘Spice Isle’ is one of the most beautifully lush islands in the West Indies. Naturally exotic, Grenada’s breathtaking scenery includes mountain waterfalls and golden beaches surrounded by tropical rain forests which is appealing even to the most discerning world traveller.

Grenada is a full and participating member of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) and the Commonwealth of Nations.

This mix of unspoilt authentic Caribbean of yesteryear and friendly and modern lifestyle today, makes it the perfect place to live and play. Mount Cinnamon, a short drive from the capital of St George’s is the perfect beach front setting.

The island was originally known as Camerhougue but Columbus renamed it Concepcion Island when he visited in 1498. Successive Spanish sailors found it to be so evocative of Andalucia with its lush green mountain scenery that they called it Granada which is the origination of its name today.

The Citizenship program is by invitation only (contact NTL for more information), and the minimum investment required by the government is US$250,000.  The Mount Cinnamon beachfront resort is the only current authorised development on the island. At Mount Cinnamon, a US$310,000 investment includes 10 shares int he holding company, and all the government, due diligence and associated fees for one citizenship (the primary applicant). Proffesional agent fees apply as do extra fees for additional family members.

Additional fees apply for family members are extremely accesible, as the country favours families. A family of 4 can qualify for citizenship for around US$350,000.

Larger investment applications are also welcome. Investments of greater than US$2,000,000 with no upper limit, can be made for larger bespoke villas or other commercial investments and entitle the applicant or applicants to apply for citizenship In all of the above cases spouses and children under 25 years may also apply for citizenship.

The application process is quicker than other programs, and will be approved within 60 days of submission with your passport issued immediately thereafter.

A Grenada passport allows visa-free travel to more than 100 countries, all EU (Schengen) Countries to be on Visa Exemption List by December 2014- already approved by the EU parliment. The island offers no income, wealth or inheritance taxes.

There is no requirement to visit Grenada in order to qualify for citizenship, although all applicants are subject to a strict background check.

The granting of citizenship is at the sole discretion of the government; there is no guarantee that the applicant will be approved.

If you are interested, please contact your NTL Agent to schedule a personal consultation to see if you qualify for this unique and exciting program. Applications are processed by a carefully-selected network of NTL affiliate lawyers and authorized financial services providers.
